This deal wasn’t easy. But we made it fast, clean, and fair.
The company was a mid-sized logistics firm in the Midwest. Solid revenue, great customer retention, but the founder was ready to move on. He’d spent 12 years building it, and he was burnt out. Still profitable, but tired.
When he came to us, he didn’t want to waste months in back-and-forth. No drawn-out courtship. No “maybe in Q3” delays. He just wanted a deal that respected the business he built and respected his time.
We got on a Zoom that same week. He walked us through the numbers. Revenue: just over $5.1M. EBITDA: $920k. Low churn, steady cash flow, no crazy risks. Not a rocket ship, but strong. Quietly strong.
We gave him a verbal offer on the call. Not final numbers, but a fair range. He liked that. No poker face. No dancing. Just straight math, operator to operator.
From there, we moved into diligence. We don’t have a 30-point checklist from legal. We have a 3-person deal team who knows what matters: money, risk, and transferability.
His books were clean. Staff was steady. Customers were loyal.
We sent the term sheet on Day 8. He signed it on Day 10. Why so fast? Because we don’t wait for permission to be decisive.
Once we were under LOI, we kept communication tight. Every doc request went through one person. No “looping in finance” 5 days later. He got answers within 24 hours. Every time.
By Day 21, legal was finalizing docs. He’d already spoken to our post-close operator. We don’t hide the next guy. We introduce him up front.
Funding cleared on Day 40. Money hit his account on Day 42.
No drama. No retrades. No late-stage surprises.
He exited clean. His staff stayed. And we took over a business that was built right.
Most buyers stretch this stuff out to 90 days, 120 days, sometimes more. We don’t. If we want to buy it, we move. If we don’t, we pass fast and respectfully.
This deal worked because both sides were honest, prepared, and serious. And because we’ve done this enough to know what to look for and what to ignore.
There are a lot of good companies out there waiting for a smart, fair buyer.
This one found us. And 42 days later, we both won.
